Work From Home And Open The Doors To History And Culture

Everyone dreams of the luxury of working from home – and there are many business opportunities for entrepreneurs (and artists!) to make that dream come true.

However, Rivky’s Art Workshop™ is the one business opportunity that allows you to work from home and enrich your life and the lives of your students by introducing them to the history and cultures of the world through your work.

Yes, you can work at home and still explore world history and culture. Not only that, but while working from home you can expose students, young and old alike, to history and culture through art instruction.

Art is not only a course to teach in our schools, but it is also an approach to teaching many of the other academic areas as well. Through art, we can learn a great deal about ourselves and the world around us. Depending on the way we view art, it can teach us about history and culture in addition to the aesthetic qualities of life. The way the world was and the way the world is now is the perfect approach to just about any course in humanities across the curriculum. After all, learning about culture helps us understand other worlds in other times and in the present.

When we look at the world through the artwork each community presents, we learn just as much about them as we do about ourselves from reflecting on our own art. We gain a better understanding of their interests. We gain a better understanding of what they value most. We begin to look at the world through their eyes and we see what they see. Art helps us draw the world closer to ourselves so that we can study it more intimately.

It’s as if we visited the art capital of the world. When in London, England, as it is often considered the art capital of the world by many art enthusiasts, art is actually just about everywhere you want to be. You can take an art tour through a museum. Art debates give you a perfect outlet to voice your opinions on contemporary art versus more traditional works. You can even set up a private tour to see a collection of such artists as Rembrandt and Frank Cohen. The value that is placed on art in London tells us a great deal about their culture.

Even other more local communities to yourself can be viewed through the art they love. A rural community just a few counties over will most likely take great pride in their historical settings no longer existent throughout the rest of the world. Covered bridges where kids once fished might be the subject of a painting found in the most prominent building in town. Just like New Yorkers taking pride in their more contemporary architectures and displaying artwork of them in restaurants and other institutions all over their town. You learn much about the interests of a community through their artwork.

Learning about the cultures of the world brings you to a greater understanding of who you are and how you fit. You feel more a part of humanity having a diverse knowledge of the varying peoples surrounding you and on the other side of this great globe. And that’s one of the greatest things about art. It helps you make such a connection with the world around you.
